The CANOE has been called one of the Seven Wonders of Canada. In British Columbia, it has played a particularly important role, allowing coastal First Nations to hunt on the open ocean and early explorers to travel the province’s many waterways.

Canoe Crossings traces the evolution of the various types of canoes (broadly defined to include kayaks and dragon boats) found in BC from their first appearance here to the present, and looks at the impact they have had on the province and its people.
